How To Name Your Catchy French Restaurant
French restaurants are famous all over the world. But in India, there are not many. That is why I decided to write about this topic. This post will provide you with some ideas about French restaurant names.
French Restaurants in India
As per the research done by Deloitte (a global professional services firm), the Indian restaurant industry has witnessed tremendous growth in the last ten years. As per Deloitte, India’s foodservice industry is expected to grow to reach $70 billion by 2019. A report by The Brand Equity has noted that there are around 8,000 restaurants in India and it is expected to increase to 12,000 by 2020.
So if you are running a restaurant or you are planning to start one, this post will provide you with some great ideas. So let us get started.
Fancy Restaurants
The fancy restaurant is known to serve French cuisine. However, the French restaurant can also offer Indian cuisines. The names of fancy restaurants in India may include Indian names like “Namaste” etc. However, if you wish to get your own name, there are many options.
A very common name for fancy restaurants is “Le Bistro”. But if you are not a big fan of the French restaurant name, you can name your restaurant after a location like “Chez Goutai”, “Le Chez”, or “The Cheffy”. You can also choose to name your restaurant after a historical figure who worked in the restaurant industry, or maybe you can name your restaurant after an iconic food item like “The Mughlai Chicken”.
Gastronomic Restaurants
Some people prefer to name a restaurant after a celebrity chef like Gordon Ramsey. But I am not a big fan of this naming scheme. But if you like this option, you can name your restaurant after a popular chef like Jamie Oliver, Alain Ducasse, and even the famous Indian celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor.
If you want to name your restaurant after the place where you cook, then you can choose between “The Le Café du Marche” and “Le Cafe de la Tour”.
French-Inspired Restaurants
If you are a big fan of France, you can name your restaurant after a famous French restaurant like “L’Ambassade”.
If you want to go a step further, you can name your restaurant after a place like the “Moulin Rouge”. However, keep in mind that Moulin Rouge is a famous nightclub in Paris. So, you might want to name your restaurant after a place that is less famous but still inspired by France.
Bistros
I am personally a fan of bistros. As a matter of fact, a restaurant called “Le Bistro” is my favorite. If you are interested in naming your restaurant like a bistro, you can name your restaurant after a famous French region like “La Provence” or “Les Alpes”.
You can also name your restaurant after a well-known dish like “Beurre blanc” or “Cote de boeuf”.
Italian Restaurants
Italy is considered to be a food lover’s paradise. So if you are interested in naming your restaurant after an Italian place, then you can name your restaurant after a famous Italian city like “Genova” or “Firenze”.
Mexican Restaurants
If you have a fondness for Mexico, then you can name your restaurant after a place like “La Paz” or “Mexico City”. However, make sure you name your restaurant after a place that is as close to the actual name of the city as possible.
Other Names
There are many more options available. If you want to name your restaurant after a place that is not too well-known, you can choose names such as “Chez l’Espagnole” and “Chez l’Américain”.
Conclusion
After you’ve had a few drinks and are feeling frisky, it’s time to decide where you want to go eat. But which restaurant will give you the best night out?
We know that you’ve probably been to a lot of restaurants, but have you thought about how you can name your own?
What kind of name makes you excited? Which restaurant does it remind you of? Are you planning on using it for a wedding or anniversary present?
Here are some of the best French restaurant names we’ve found online. Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
